Marrakech Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month!

Each year in May, Marrakech, Inc. hosts a picnic for Behavioral Health Programs in the Community Service Network (CSN) to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month! The CSN consists of approximately 28 programs that provide mental health services, with oversight from Connecticut Mental Health Center, which is the area's lead agency for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to people in our communities. 

Marrakech and other area agency employees enjoy this years picnic to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month! 

Marrakech’s Taking Initiative Center, Work Services and Supportive Housing Programs organized the picnic this year, which Marrakech has hosted to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month for over 20 years. All the food is donated by area restaurants, and people who receive services, their families and employees from community agencies are invited and attend. The picnic has been held outside at Lighthouse Park for years, and the weather has been great each year!
